El Prado, New Mexico
Mountain Views and Modern Style
This Modern model sits at an altitude of over 7,000 feet in the New Mexico high desert town of El Prado. Designed with elegance and the elements in mind, this 960-square-foot home offers an efficient living space suited to the climate of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Sustainability for the owners was important in the design of this home. Using a prefabricated home with an Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) foundation makes the home more energy efficient and able to withstand the area’s high winds.
The Nances opted for the roof and wall panel upgrades because the area gets 35 to 40 inches of snow per year and temperatures well below freezing in the Winter months. They also opted for custom windows and exterior doors that provide the home with natural light and showcase the breathtaking mountain views.
