Year‑Round Retreat Shaped by Experience
This 828 sq. ft. Cottage model in Cherry Valley, New York, is built for year-round use as a personal getaway. Owner Joe Provost drew on years of Airbnb stays to shape the layout, keeping it compact, single-level, and easy to maintain.
The home sits on a slab foundation with a 9 ft. x 20 ft. bump-out, adding flexible space without overcomplicating the build. SIP panel construction handles Central New York's cold winters and humid summers.
Provost was hands-on from the start. Once the subfloor was ready, the shell was up in four days and weather-tight within two weeks.
"Once the concrete and subfloor were ready, we had the entire shell up in just four days," Provost said.
